Born and raised in Chicago, IL, Jarrett Rashad has worked with Lion King the Broadway Musical, Cirque Du Soleil, Radio City Christmas Spectacular, Lyric Opera of Chicago, the Smithsonian Institution, Deeply Rooted Dance Theater, Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Ensemble, Dayton Contemporary Dance Company, Davis Contemporary Dance Company, and Molodi Extreme Body Percussion.
He has worked under highly acclaimed artists such as Willdabeast, Napoleon and Tabitha D'umo, Mia Michaels, Paul Mitchell, Ray Mercer, Homer Bryant, Randy Duncan, Mukhtar Omar Sharif Mukhtar, Kishema Pendu, Comfort Fedoke, Cardi B, Nicky Jam, Steve Aoki, Black Eyed Peas, Yusuf Nasir, Nigel Lythgoe, Brian Friedman, Jeffry Denman, and mentor Kirby Reed.
Jarrett continues to distinguish himself in the dance world as a choreographer for Cirque Du Soleil’s charity production ‘Amanzi’ under the direction of Hassan El Hajjami. A student of the legendary Joel Hall of Joel Hall dancers, Jarrett joined the professional company at 16. He is the youngest company member in the 55+ history of Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago and the creator of the Performing Associate position under Nan Giordano at 17.
Jarrett is a founding member of the WNBA’s Wild Card Crew for the Las Vegas “Aces”; a featured dancer in Sun Pictures’s Bollywood blockbuster “Sakar” starring Thalapathy Vijay (Netflix), and featured in ongoing campaigns for Denny’s and the Grand Canyon West. He has played Sir Wilfred in the Fever Entertainment and NETFLIX collaboration, The Bridgerton Experience Denver. He is also a featured choreographer for the “Dance in the Dirty South” exhibit with Presenting Denver and the Denver Museum of Contemporary Art.
Jarrett is a former modern dance Artist In Residence for UNLV and has been on the faculty at several nationally acclaimed studios, conservatories, and performing arts centers. Jarrett has created and led outreach programming for over 15 years. He continues to inspire as a teaching artist with the Denver School of the Arts, Boulder Ballet, and serves as Artistic Director of his 501c3 entitled Jarrett Rashad Dance Theater.
